Hoover's Place at the Beach

Nicely appointed beachfront condominium is in the Arcadian Shores section of Myrtle Beach. You can enjoy the privacy of your own white sandy beach, making it an ideal retreat for all ages. This outstanding setting makes Sands Beach Club one of the Grand Strand's preferred resorts.

This first floor unit boasts a fully equipped kitchen, a living area w/queen sleeper sofa, dining area, guest bedroom w/bunk beds and a day bed w/pull out trundle, master bedroom w/queen bed, two full bathrooms and a private balcony (accessible from the living area or the master bedroom) facing the ocean. Heat and Air Conditioning, ceiling fan in the living room and master bedroom, LCD flat screen t.v. in the living room (with a DVD player) and a small flat screen television in the master bedroom.

There are a few things we've provided for your use while staying at Hoover's Place at the Beach. Decks of cards, board games, puzzles, tennis rackets, beach toys for the younger ones, DVD's, beach chairs and beach towels, etc.

There is a washer/dryer in the condo, oceanfront restaurant/lounge on the first floor, indoor & outdoor pools and hot tubs, exercise room, wireless internet, sports deck w/basketball & volleyball courts and lighted tennis courts. There is also, across the parking lot, a newly opened (in 2010) pizza/subs/calzone shop (Carmine's) which we have tried and is very good (not to mention convenient). The restaurant/lounge in the building offers a wide variety of foods.

When you've had enough of the beach or the pool, there are lots of other things to do and see in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area.

There are more than 100 championship golf courses. There are tons of mini golf locations, para sailing, deep sea fishing and pontoon, jet ski and jet boat rentals. There is also the Great American Riverboat Company where you can have a drink and something to eat while you cruise up and down the river.

If you're up for some real good entertainment, you can take in a show at the Carolina Opry (which we have enjoyed several times), Alabama Theater, Pirate's Voyage and the Medieval Times Dinner Theater.

For folks who enjoy marine life and animals, there are Alligator Adventure and Ripley's Aquarium. Both have been visited by members of our family and thoroughly enjoyed!

And while the guys are out golfing, there is an abundance of shopping for the gals. The big draws are the two Tanger Outlet Centers (one a mere mile and a half from the condo). Two other shopping areas you need to experience are Broadway at the Beach (where you'll find Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and the Hard Rock Cafe) and Barefoot Landing. These include a mixture of unique shops and lots of eateries. There is the Coastal Grand Mall and a new shopping experience called Market Commons.

One of the more amazing things about Myrtle Beach is the number of restaurants you'll find. These restaurants range from fast food to casual to fine dining. We have not been to a restaurant yet that we would not return to. The following are all restaurants that we have been to and would have no problem recommending:

Fire Island / Sea Captain's House / River City Cafe / Wild Wing Cafe / Luigi's / Harry the Hat's / Benny Rappa's / Little Pigs BBQ / Callie Baker's Firehouse / Hamburger Joe's / Finn McCool's / Landry's Seafood / Liberty Tap Room / Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse / Cheeseburger in Paradise/ Burro Loco.

And for great ice cream treats, there is Maggie Moo's (at Barefoot Landing), Kirk's Ice Cream, Stone Cold Creamery (at the Walmart Plaza) and Ben & Jerry's (at the Tanger Outlet Center).
