Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley

The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization whose mission is to help improve the lives of chronically/terminally ill children. The foundation provides grants and other services to support the goal of improving the lives of chronically/terminally ill children and their families.

The mission of the H.F.M.V. is to generate and solicit funds in order to help better the lives of those in need. With money raised from donations and various special events staged throughout the year, the foundation is able to provide grants of up to $5,000. The Hope Foundation runs solely on the gracious work of its volunteers and the generous donations from individuals, organizations and companies. The organization is entirely volunteer and we are extremely thankful to all of our donors and volunteers for without their support the Foundation would not be able to realize its goals or mission.

The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley was founded in 2007 after the increasing success and popularity of the Game of Hope Charity Basketball Classic; a fundraising event begun in 2005. Over the years the Game of Hope has turned into one of the fastest growing charity events in the Mahoning Valley, creating community interest and support by featuring local celebrities, dignitaries and community leaders on teams that compete against each other in a basketball game at Youngstown State University’s Beeghly Center. Since 2005, the Game of Hope and H.F.M.V. has raised over $90,000 for the chronically and terminally ill children of the area.

While the Hope Foundation was founded in large part due to the success of its basketball event, we’ve started to host other popular events including the Bocce for Hope and Wine for Hope. The Hope Foundation teams up with Cassese’s MVR, a local restaurant and area dining staple to host the Bocce for Hope; an event that invites all local bocce players to compete while raising money for a worthwhile cause. Our Wine for Hope event provides guests a night that is filled with gourmet food, exotic desserts, fine wines and plenty of entertainment.

In addition to all donations being tax-deductible, each and every donation helps the Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley realize its goal which ultimately affords a better life for those children that are chronically and terminally ill.
