Hornsby Bend is a 1200 acre site that is the Austin Water Utility's Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant which is open to the public 7 days a week from dawn to dusk. Public access for birding, hiking, and more is allowed from dawn to dark. Hornsby Bend is one of the most popular birding sites in Texas. The Hornsby Bend Bird Observatory is a program of the Austin Water Utility's Center for Environmental Research at Hornsby Bend.
