The Horseheads Central School District is one of three districts in Chemung County, located in Upstate New York’s Southern Tier Region. The district has an estimated population of 25,000, spanning some 143 square miles. The communities of the Town and Village of Horseheads, Big Flats, Veteran, Breesport, Pine Valley, Erin, Millport, Cayuta, Catlin, and portions of adjacent communities make up the district. Today, some 4,300 students and more than 600 staff members teach and learn in four elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school, and one high school.
