Hospice of Texarkana/Hospice of Hope

Hospice of Texarkana, Inc. was founded because two women had a dream--a dream that the Texarkana Region would have a hospice to care for the very sick of our community. In 1985, Susan Landreaux and Lindy Lawrence worked with The Junior League of Texarkana and JLT was gracious to donate $50,000 to establish the non-profit agency.
During our 30th year of service, another dream was fulfilled. The Hospice of Texarkana Family of Staff and Volunteers had dreamed of offering a freestanding Hospice Inpatient Care Center and the beautiful facility was started during our 30th year, under the oversight of Executive Director Cindy Marsh, Board President Pete Snow and Foundation Board President Larry Sims.
The first Inpatient Care Center patient came in on June 1, 2016, and 100 people were served in the facility in 2016. Usage of the 12 bed facility is growing. Our care to patients in homes continues in Texas in Bowie and Cass Counties and in Arkansas in: Miller, Hempstead, Little River, Lafayette, Sevier, Howard and Nevada Counties.
