The school environment nurtures the young child’s natural inquisitiveness and creativity while giving them opportunities to:
• Explore their interests
• Gain understanding of their world
• Become contributing members of a community
• Gain social and emotional skills in a supportive environment
Maria Montessori’s values of freedom, independence, and practical application of learning are integrated into a cohesive program offering daily group activities, opportunities for art exploration, free-play opportunities, and nature/outdoor studies.
The five areas of focus in the Montessori classroom are used as a guide. Manipulatives, language arts, math, practical life skills, and sensorial (art/science) activities will be available for independent exploration. In addition, group activities involving story time, art, science, music, fantasy/pretend play, and social skills practice occur daily.
The teacher, director and aide oversee an intimate class of 10-15 children, Monday through Friday from 8-4. 2,3, and 5 day enrollment options are available.
