Hunters Head Tavern

Hunter’s Head Tavern is a traditional British style gastro pub in Upperville, Virginia. Just like at a British pub, the first thing you do at Hunter's Head is stand in line and order from the bartender. Then you take your big wooden spoon to the table told (not shown) to you.

Our food has a comfort food feel, but is made from the freshest local ingredients. We are owned and operated by neighboring Certified Humane® and USDA Certified Organic Ayrshire Farm. Our goal is to serve you meals made from meats and produce that have traveled limited miles to reach your plate. Most of them come from Ayrshire Farm and other local farms, the wine list features both local and organic wineries, and the beers on tap are domestic and imported.

Our restaurant is located at the site of The Carr House, first built around 1750. Today the building retains its original log cabin walls, fireplaces, mantels, floors on the upper stories, and even the original house well in the basement. The only change to the house has been the addition of the small kitchen at the back of the original building.
