Most of the town residents live in the village of Hustisford, within the town.HistoryIt was named for John Hustis, a pioneer settler.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 34.9 square miles (90.5 km²), of which, 33.7 square miles (87.4 km²) of it is land and 1.2 square miles (3.1 km²) of it (3.44%) is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 1,379 people, 492 households, and 411 families residing in the town. The population density was 40.9 people per square mile (15.8/km²). There were 546 housing units at an average density of 16.2 per square mile (6.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.49% White, 0.15% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.22% from other races, and 0.07% from two or more races. 0.94% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.There were 492 households out of which 34.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.4% were married couples living together, 6.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.3% were non-families. 12.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.06.
