HYDRA of Hart County was formed in 1988 out of The Troubled
Children’s Committee for Hart County, with the goal of creating
programming for bridge the gaps in services for Hart County’s
youth. For 25 years, HYDRA has ameliorated that goal with
innovative programs and various youth projects.
HYDRA serves approximately 900 youth each year and is
governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We receive
funding from the City of Hartwell, Business Partnerships,
Private Foundation Grants, local business sponsorships, and
charitable donations. HYDRA employs a full time Program
Director who coordinates community volunteers.
We are a collaborative partner with other youth serving
agencies and non-profits including, Hart Partners,
Hart County Interagency Council, and The Community
Partnerships for Protecting Children. HYDRA’s involvement in
these harmonious efforts helps to ensure that families in
need of services are offered the best and al possible resources.
HYDRA reports effectively to all funding sources and
completes a financial audit annually.
