HYPE Ministries

where Pastor"> HYPE Ministries, which stands for Helping Youth Progress Every Day, was founded at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in the year 2000. HYPE leader Derrick Barnett along with twenty college students who attended the church while enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi founded the organization. Member Davell Guerin coined the acronym to give meaning to the purpose behind the goal/mission. It was created because the founding members observed youth at the church with no clear direction, guidance, or discipline. Over the years this ministry grew and served thirty to fifty youth each week on Wednesday nights.
