Icard is a census-designated place in Burke County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,664 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area.GeographyIcard is located in eastern Burke County at . It is bordered to the east by the town of Hildebran.U.S. Route 70 is the main local road through the town, leading east 8mi to Hickory and west to Morganton. Interstate 40 parallels US-70, with access to Icard from Exit 116.According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 9.9sqkm, of which 0.02km2, or 0.25%, is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 2,734 people, 1,121 households, and 784 families residing in the CDP.
