Idlewild Paradise Club Reunion & Arthur "Daddy" Braggs Tribute

IDLEWILD, MI (JUNE 18, 2012) – August 24-26 former patrons, performers and supporters of Idlewild will embark on 3 days of events to celebrate Idlewild Centennial Year, world renown Paradise Club, and Arthur “Daddy” Braggs’ contribution to Idlewild. Idlewild, was known as an entertainment mecca during the 1950’s and 60’s.

The events will commence Friday August 24th, with a meet and greet of the weekend attendees held at the Greektown Casio in downtown Detroit. Saturday August 25th, interested parties will leave Detroit and travel back in time to Idlewild for a tour, lecture and picnic festivities. On Sunday August 26th events will conclude with a reunion celebration of past performers, from entertainment acts, dancers groups such as, The Braggettes and The Fiesta Dolls, chorographers and many supporters. At that time, attendees will salute and tribute Arthur “Daddy” Braggs, promoter and producer of the Paradise club. Tickets will cost $75 for the bus tour to Idlewild and $50 to attend the Reunion Tribute Dinner.
