Illuminate Goshen

This organization will have two goals. One of which will be to coordinate an annual fundraising dinner to raise money for holiday lighting in the downtown Village for each December. Our goal is to literally illuminate the downtown corridor. Specifically we would like to purchase enough lights to create a light canopy hanging from building to building across West Main Street (and maybe beyond).

We want Goshen to become a county-wide destination. Other than making things even more joyful locally, we believe this would help our local business community, make Goshen a greater destination and real estate attraction, and provide a greater sense of community spirit.

The second goal of Illuminate Goshen is even more exciting. We would like to coordinate an annual New Years Eve NYC Style "Ball Drop" in the heart of the Downtown! This would be an amazing event that I feel would bring in hundreds of people. It would be family friendly and provide a wonderful way for the community to get together and ring in the New Year while supporting the local economy and showcasing the best of everything our community has to offer. The possibilities of this event in terms of programming and entertainment are literally endless. We want your ideas and we need committee members!
