I'm Earth

Welcome to our site. Our family strives to make a positive difference wherever we go, and leave places better than we found them. I started the I’m Earth Organization as an effort to do things that I felt made a difference. I wanted to do something other than buy something for one dollar, and selling it for two. I wanted to do something that matters.

Mary and I have recently decided to extend those efforts, by beginning this blog as a method of sharing our efforts as a family. We are striving to teach our children the importance of doing our part to make this rock we call home a better place for not only us, but all our fellow man, and animals.

Our motto in a nutshell is simply “Be Good To Our Home, Be Good To Those Who Share It, and Be Good To Yourself.” So what does that mean?

Be Good To Yourself
For years I’ve been very focused on my health, and when I can, offering health advice to others. Mary and I do the same with the kids, ensuring they eat properly, and get plenty of exercise. We are planning to hold fitness events featuring some of the top trainers in our area. As well we plan to post many things about fitness, exercise, wellness. Our hope are to attend many of the shows, and do our part to spread the word about living a healthier, more full, fit life.

Be Good To Our Home
Several years back, I began taking a strong interest in the the footprint I leave on this planet. I began to work at reducing what I consume, and how much I pollute with my daily life. To this day, I drive a much smaller vehicle, with plans to go electric. I have improved my home tremendously with insulation, energy saving additions, including all LED lights, etc. Once Mary and the kids moved in, we found ourselves discussing ways to push this even further, and to teach the kids early the importance of these things for their, and everyone else’s future. We are planning future events such as a group effort to meet at city locations and helping to clean up public places for us to all enjoy.

Be Good To Others
As far as those around us, we strive to help out where we can. Whether it be helping out a neighbor with a chore, or making sure we adopted my dog Goliath from a rescue, we try to do our part in making this world a little better for others. We have plans to organize volunteer groups for a wide variety of things needed. We plan to take a group of parents and children to volunteer walking animals at local pet shelters, and using that time to educate the kids. We also plan events such as a day where we offer lunch, and haircut for the homeless, or those in great need. There are so many ways we can all join in and help, and at the same time, teach the kids valuable lessons in being altruistic.

We will not only be participating in local charity, and awareness events, but as well setting up our own soon. We have a variety of t-shirts, and other items for purchase, that will allow those who support the same belief to show their pride in being a resident of this floating rock in space. We will be periodically adding new items. All proceeds for merchandise will go to assisting us set up the events described above. From time to time, we will hold events, or participate in events for specific charities. So it’s that simple. We are striving to spread the word and encourage others to be good to others, be good to where we live, and be good to ourselves.
