The Indian Lake Yacht Club has been a fixture on Indian Lake for almost 80 years. In the early 40’s a small group of sailors formed a nucleus, which was chartered as The Indian Lake Yacht Club in 1946.
Over the years the ILYC leased a small island from the State of Ohio, which was eventually purchased from the State.
Additional enlargement of the island was made possible by allowing the deposit of dredged material. As the island grew so did the membership. Currently the club has a total membership approaching 90 members.
Several classes of one-design boats are involved in sailing competition weekly throughout the summer season.
In addition family gatherings with various themes are encouraged on specific holidays and weekends.
Visitors are always welcome.
