Indiana's 2nd congressional district is a legislative electoral area in north central Indiana. With a heavy working-class population, It includes South Bend and Elkhart.The district is represented by Republican Jackie Walorski. Current U.S. Vice President and former Indiana Governor Mike Pence represented this district between 2001 and 2003.HistoryPrior to 2002, the 2nd Congressional District covered east central Indiana, including most of the territory now in the 6th District. However, following the 2000 U.S. Census redistricting, the district was moved to replace most of what had been the 3rd District.Living former Members, there are five former members of the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana's 2nd congressional district who are currently living at this time.
