More about Inland Northwest SIDS Foundation Thriftique

INW SIDS Thriftique is a new kind of thrift store. We promise we won't just have garage sale leftovers, stretched out and stained clothes and picked over knick-knacks that were passe in the 70's. We do thing differently here. Don't get us wrong, we are still a thrift store, but with a bit of a twist. We sell great quality used items, clothes, furniture, knick knacks (stuff you would actually WANT to put in your house), kitchenwares, and miscellaneous galore We don't have a giant retail space, so this allows us to be selective on the merchandise we put out for sale, that's a good thing for you. No more sorting through fifty shirts to find one you might wear.

Now here's our twist, one of them anyway, as our sign says we focus on re-using, re-purposing and re imaging items. What's that you say?

Well, we'll tell you. Reuse, we all that reusing whatever we can is not only best for our planet, but also our wallets as well. Just because you don't like that day-glo ski jacket straight out of 1995, doesn't mean someone else won't treasure it, style is subjective, right? So instead of tossing it in a landfill, donate it to us, and we promise we'll find that jacket the perfect new person, it's a win win for all.

Re-purpose, this means taking something and using it for something else, pretty clear, right? We've seen so much cool stuff recently with people taking objects and flipping the script and making something unique, cool, and most importantly, functional. Those old weathered fence pickets you found don't look like anything special, but add some scrap wood, some paint and a little elbow grease and you've got a sweet bench. Can't picture it, come on down and we'll show you a picture, literally, a picture. This is one idea, there are countless more, don't even get us started on what we could do with pallets and wine bottles. So stop on by to see what we have that you could use for you're next great project. Need ideas, we can give you some of those too, and the best part is, they're even free!

Re-imagine is our favorite. Who says a piano always has to be a piano, a tire always has to be a tire? Nobody, that's who. Let's take things, whole things, parts of things, bits of things, any things, and make something unique and cool. Found a free old piano on Craigslist? Oh, year that was us. Thinking about how cool it would be to put a fish tank in it? Oh, yeah, that was us too. That's re-imaging!

As if all this doesn't add up to one of the coolest, uniquest, add your own -ist here, we have even more. We have a relationsihip with Re$tored by Sherri Anderson, and if you don't know her, you should. Eveything we talked about above, all 3 Re's, Sherri excels at, come by and take a look at her stuff, it is AWESOME.

Now the best part, we aren't just any old thrift/botique store, we are part of the Inland Northwest SIDS Foundation. Don't know about the SIDS Foundation? Oh, you should. We were founded right here in CDA in 2013. Our mission is to educated our community about safe sleep and SIDS, bring awareness to safe sleep and SIDS in our community and support those who have lost a child to SIDS/SUID, which unfortunately, is far more common than you might think. We are local, not a cog in some national non-profit wheel, we focus our efforts on our community and that's awesome.

We have provided thousands of training to our community covering the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) recommended safe sleep guidelines. Doctors, childcare centers, hospitals, parent, grandparent, aunts, uncles, babysitters, we've trained them all, Free.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg, we do so much more. So when you shop in our store you help support our foundation and allow us to continue our important work in our community.
