More about Inlet Inn

Welcome to the Inlet Inn,

If you are looking for a quiet and comfortable Inn that offers the privacy of a hotel but with the amenities, charm and service of a bed and breakfast and you want the best view and best location in historic Beaufort, this is the place for you.

Built in 1985, the Inlet Inn carries on the one hundred plus year tradition of the original Inlet Inn which provided seaside accommodations to 19th century visitors to Beaufort. Our Inn offers 35 spacious, comfortable rooms, a meeting room that can accommodate up to twenty-five people, a business center, a quiet courtyard garden, and private on-site parking for all our guests. First and second floor rooms have one king bed, a sleeper sofa, chairs and table, private bath, refrigerator, ceiling fan, coffee maker and hair dryer. Third floor rooms have two queen beds, chairs and tables and a large bay window with a padded window seat. Waterfront and non-waterfront rooms are available. And, for those cool evenings of spring, fall and winter, several rooms have large wood-burning fireplaces.

Whether from the comfort of your rocking chair on the porch, the cozy bay window seat, or our rooftop Widow’s Walk balcony, you will enjoy one of the best views on the East coast and certainly the best view in Beaufort. From here you can see the Atlantic Ocean, the Morehead City harbor, Cape Lookout Lighthouse, Fort Macon, wild ponies on Carrot Island, and dolphin swimming in the picturesque Beaufort harbor.

Our waterfront location in the middle of the historic district is perfect for a truly relaxing stay. Within easy walking distance of the Inlet Inn you will find wonderful restaurants and shops, the North Carolina Maritime Museum and boat-building exhibit, a fascinating and picturesque cemetery dating back to 1731, the Beaufort Historic Site, and tree-lined streets with restored colonial homes --- each with its own fascinating history or ghost story to tell.

As the third oldest town in North Carolina, Beaufort has a unique charm and atmosphere that makes it a truly special place. As a guest at the Inlet Inn you will bask in this same charm and hospitality. And, to top it all off, each morning we deliver a continental breakfast of warm muffins, bagels, orange juice, cream cheese, jellies and coffee or tea to your room. Newspapers are available daily in the front office. What could be better?
