More about Integrated Neurofeedback Therapy

The media and research communities have been bursting with information in the area of neuroscience and brain research. Everywhere you turn you hear about benefits of meditation, how we need to keep the mind clear and active to keep it healthy (think Alzheimer’s and dementia), how the brain is not like an old dog who can’t learn new tricks…quite the contrary!

Everyone I know complains of various symptoms such as stress, anxiety, sleep problems, children with ADHD or behavioral issues, depression, migraines, etc. Most of these concerns stem from the brain and imbalances in the brain. Easiest example is how a headache/migraine feels like brain activity going crazy. Or how anxious thoughts are an overactive mind. Or why we use stimulants to activate parts of an ADHD child’s brain.

Through EEG technology, I can receive your brain wave input and assist the brain in re-wiring itself into a more healthy state. We do this through a non-invasive technique called Neurofeedback Therapy.

Having two boys with ADHD I was looking for something to help them, other than medication. As a fan of Mind-Body Medicine, I got excited when someone suggested Neurofeedback. They described that it was a form of brain balancing, using EEG and either movies or game feedback. The common ADHD symptoms such as aggression, anxiety, impulsivity, lack of focus and organization, low self esteem could be helped with this form of non-invasive, non-pharmacological therapy. I decided I had to try this with my boys! Yet, I knew that if this worked, I would want to try it and help others families. As I have a Master’s degree in a complementary field I decided to take the leap of faith and get trained.

It has been an exciting (almost) two years. I, myself, have been relieved of insomnia, migraines and anxiety symptoms. The first thing my oldest son will say is that he is “Happier” than before treatments (less aggressive and angry behavior outbreaks). My younger son’s anxiety has settled down which helps his AHDH symptoms.

I have had the honor of working with so many clients, reducing symptoms of addiction, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, behavioral issues, ADHD/ADD, migraines, Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD). Not only are the symptoms reduced but also other symptoms that were not of primary concern have been alleviated such as mental fogginess, mindless eating, better quality sleep, a sense of calmness, ease and general wellbeing.

I am so excited to be able to offer something that can make people’s lives happier and healthier. In addition to the improvements each individual feels, the entire family benefits!

If you or anyone you know could benefit from relief of these symptoms, I would love to talk with you. I am happy to show the equipment I use and explain the treatment and process. Please feel free to go to my website for articles from prestigious universities and peer reviewed journal articles that support it’s effectiveness, such as when the American Academy of Pediatrics recognizing Neurofeedback as being as effective as medication for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)!!! Very exciting.

I would love to hear from you or please forward this information or my website to anyone I might be able to help!
