Iron Work Farm in Acton, Inc. ('IWF') is a historical, non-profit corporation chartered in Massachusetts since 1964. The Iron Work Farm name derives from the original name of a 1,000-acre plantation which was granted in 1654 to Major Simon Willard, a founder of Concord. The land grant was acquired by the Concord Iron Works Company about 1660 and became the location of the first village settlement in Acton between 1700 & 1710. The area was incorporated as a town in 1735.
