Islamic Center of Northland

The Islamic Center of Northland (ICN) is an Islamic center serving as a prayer space and a gathering spot for the Muslim community in North Kansas City and the surrounding towns and cities of Parkville, Liberty, Gladstone, Claycomo, Riverside, Weatherby Lake, Lake Waukomis, and Smithville. In 2012, ICN plans a phased masjid development on a 10-acre lot that was purchased with donations in summer 2010.

The Islamic Center currently rents space at the Hillside Christian Church (900 NE Vivion Road) to accommodate the spiritual needs of nearly 200 area Muslims. The space provides a main musullah (prayer area) for men and women as well as a locale to break our daily fast together during the holy month of Ramadan. The Jummah (Friday) prayers are held at 1:30 p.m., with the Khutbah (sermon) beginning at 1:10 p.m. Taraweeh prayers, Iftaars, and other special events are also held at ICN.

Our major educational services are weekend classes for children and adults. These classes teach the Qur’an and Arabic.

Social services include zakaat and sadaqa (alms and charity) distribution.

The Islamic Center of Northland is blessed with the knowledge and guidance of several local leaders as well as the services of countless volunteers, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee.
