Founded in 1991, the JCGS maintains a comprehensive, public research library in the Historic Jackson County Courthouse. The library holdings include primary and secondary source material, much of it unavailable anywhere else.
Open six days a week, the society publishes the award-winning quarterly "Journeys Through Jackson," as well as the Jackson County Heritage Book Volumes l and ll. Birth, death and cemetery records throughout Western North Carolina are included in our speciality volumes.
