More about Java Expressions "live"

Java Expressions "LIVE" is the entertainment page for Java Expressions! The event takes place every Sunday night at The Coffee Scene (http://facebook.com/CoffeeScene), 3818 Morganton Road in Fayetteville, NC. As many of you already know, Java Expressions is one of the longest running, weekly poetry open mics in the State of North Carolina. Since 1997, we have been a source of inspiration, motivation, and creativity for artists throughout Southeastern North Carolina. For more than sixteen years we have been blessed with the talents of poets and musicians of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. We have also been the preferred choice for touring artists, who happen to be passing through our city. Our reputation has been established through the 6,000+ voices of those who have stepped upon our floor, and given their hearts and souls to friends and strangers alike. Given us the understandings of their passions and pains, and we have been the recipients of their release. It has proven to be a testament to the fact, that we are never alone. We are all mentors, and whether we are aware of it, or not. Someone is watching us, as we make positive steps in all directions, and they follow our lead. All of us plant seeds! All of us nurture younger generations!

On January 19 2014, Java Expressions aired the first in a series of Sunday night “live stream” broadcasts from “the Loft” at the Coffee Scene. We are truly excited about this, and feel it has been a long time coming. The feed will be hosted by The Outlaw Poet Channel (http://livestream.com/outlawpoet), along with the cooperation of the LMS Radio Project (http://facebook.com/LmsRadioProject) and Outlaw Poet Releasing (http://facebook.com/OPReleasing). We are so grateful to have them dedicate their time and services to the cause.

JAVA EXPRESSIONS “LIVE” will be a 90-minute live stream that will feature poetry and music. JE “LIVE” will take place on the third Sunday of the month, from 8 to 9:30 pm. It will highlight eight (8) artists, who have previously registered for the broadcast. Each artist will present one piece of their work for broadcast. Due to the time limit of the broadcast, NO POEM OR SONG CAN BE OVER FIVE (5) MINUTES LONG. It is also important to note, that ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE BROADCAST MUST BE REGISTERED. Details on when and how to register, to include specific dates for each month, are located in the "Notes" section of this page. You may also view the information from this link:

On the night of the broadcast, Java Expressions will begin at 7 pm. JE: Live features may still sign up for the regular open mic. ALL COFFEE SCENE AND JAVA EXPRESSIONS RULES WILL BE IN EFFECT! All performers should read the FYIs located in the "Notes" section. You may also access it from this link:

This live stream broadcast was created for the benefit of those, who cannot come to the Coffee Scene on Sunday nights, and see the bounty of talented artists, who perform in “the Loft”. We want them to enjoy the event, as much as they can. Therefore, we request that if you are at the Coffee Scene on the night of the broadcast, please refrain from streaming the program on your computer. You already have the best seat in the house. Please don’t spoil it for others. If you have questions or comments, please message them to the Java Expressions (Facebook page)

Please make your plans to attend Java Expressions this Sunday night and enjoy North Carolina’s longest-running weekly poetry/music open mic. Open to all ages. See you, there!
