More about Java Justice Project

A note from the founder.:

The whole purpose of Java Justice Project is to use coffee (java) to bring justice. The name of the company actually started out as a research file in my computer, and it just stuck. I wanted a way to use what I love, roasting and serving coffee, to bring glory to God. But I wanted people who aren’t Christians to be able to get on board too. People these days are into ideas like “equality”, “justice”, “peace”, and “world-round joy”. These are simple, but captivating ideas, and they captivate everybody.

I took these ideas, and incorporated them into business practice. We buy direct trade coffees whenever we can, because this promotes ideas like the ones mentioned above. If you’ve read the other information provided, you know that buying a product direct trade also furthers the sustainability of that product. The other thing we do, as JJP... and what we’re really making our name for, is making a point to give our money away to organizations who work against the sex trade. We believe that we don’t need all the money we earn… So why not give some away and promote ideas like “equality”, “justice”,”peace”, and “joy”.

The reason I promote these ideas is because we believe they are inerrant rights that every person on the planet deserves. I believe that God made this place, and that He said things should be a certain way. I believe there is evidence of this all around us, which I would like to expound on. For now, I suffice to say God loves people. He loves us so much that He gave us free will. History shows, we didn’t always use that free will to do the best things… Those things affected our souls, and corrupted us. God took one for team humanity… and He gave His son so that we could be free once more.
We still have that inerrant free will, which God gave… with that, we can choose to either lean into Him, and His saving grace, or we can stick with our corrupt nature. No matter what we choose, humanity still has somewhat of a moral compass. We know that some things are right and some are wrong. I’ve chosen to target the issue of sex trade… a very controversial issue… but one that is most often viewed as wrong.

There are two sides to this issue, both of which need to be addressed with “justice”, and “equality” in mind. On the one hand, there are the suppliers (those buying sex), and on the other there those in demand… Both of these parties need to be addressed. When we address a supplier of the sex trade, our goals are to turn them away, and find out what we can do to help them. The theory is that people who buy sex obviously aren’t being satisfied in their heart. They need love and guidance, because judgement will most likely make them continue their cycle of buying sex. On the other hand are those in demand, the victims of sex trade. Our goal is to save these people, by getting them out, and giving them job skills; while addressing needs for healing they may have. So you see, both sides involved in the sex trade need to be addressed equally, with love and understanding. The goal of this company is to give equal parts of money to organizations whom not only work with people who are sold into sex trade, but also with those who are buying. Thus, we are addressing both parties of the issue with equality, as all people should be addressed; and bringing justice, all by selling excellently roasted coffee.

Business plan synopsis:
Our business plan is laid out in "profit cycles", rather than monthly income. Our reason for this is to eliminate debt, and maximize effectiveness and efficiency. Our profit cycles are laid out in tiers, which I calculated, in order to establish goals. Every tier represents a new level of bulk order in green coffee beans. With every order we make, there is an expected profit cycle. Our tiers, profit cycles, and donation goals are laid out below. What you see is only our short term goals.

Ordering tiers/ profit per tier:
(profit cycles based off wholesale price of $6.50 USD)

sub-goal:
tier 1) 50 lbs/ cost: $217/ profit: +$43
tier 2) 150 lbs/ cost: $375/ profit: +$405
post-goal:
tier 3) 500 lbs/ cost: $1,250/ profit: +$1,350
tier 4) 1000 lbs/ cost: $2,200(+/-)/ Profit: +$3,000

Profit cycles per tier and donation goals:
(note: profit cycles are not expected to be monthly)

tier 1) 50 lbs/ cost: $217 / gross profit: +$43.00/ Profit cycles to next tier: 4 (This means we will need to place 4 orders of 50 lbs to reach our next ordering tier)

At this tier, donations cannot technically be made with company money, because we are not making enough money. Although, we are committing to give $65/ month USD, starting this January, 2014.

tier 2) 150 lbs/ cost: $375/ gross profit: +$405/ profit cycles to next tier: 2.5

At this tier, we will continue to commit $65/ month USD, but we are still cycling profit in order to reach our next tier. The idea is to make as money as possible, as soon as possible, so that we can give it away.

tier 3) 500 lbs/ cost: $1,250/ gross profit: +$1,350/ profit cycles to next tier: 1.5

At this tier, JJP will be able to give at least $500 at the end of every profit cycle. This means, every time we go through 500 lbs of coffee, we will give $500.

tier 4) 1000 lbs/ cost: $2,200(+/-)/ gross profit: +$3,000

At this tier, we expect to give between $1,000 and $1,500 at the end of every profit cycle.

These are only our short term goals. As the company expands from this point forward, we will be able to raise more money for our cause. Once we reach these goals, new ones will be posted :) Thank you for informing yourself a little bit more about JJP, and our profit cycle system.
