This chapter came about from 3 ideas:
- The JCI Phil-NY chapter, the sponsoring chapter, has encouraged the Jersey members to form a charter chapter to be able to focus on local community efforts.
- Jersey members have requested for a local NJ chapter in order to focus its efforts in its local area.
- Hudson Jaycees alumni have asked for a Jersey chapter for their children.
- And thus why this chapter is being created.
