Q: What does the Advising center do for JCTC Students?
A:The Advising Information Center provides many academic services which include:
• Creating Academic Program Plans or APP’s
• Communicating with students about graduation requirements, majors, degrees and college policies
• Providing students with information about resources and services on campus
• Monitoring and documenting progress of student goals
• Maintaining confidentiality
Q: How much do students have to pay for advising?
A: The KCTCS Advising center is free to anyone who is interested in pursuing their education!
Q: When can students see an Advisor?
A: Office hours at the KCTCS Advising Center are Monday thru Friday 8am to 4:30pm. If a student is not available at those times advisors can schedule appointments to accommodate a students needs.
Q: How do students know which advisors to see for their majors?
A: Every advisor at JCTC is knowledgeable. Certain advisors are specialized with certain majors:
• Director of Academic Advising – Donna Edgar
• Allied Health Advisor – Phyllis Diedrich
• Nursing Advisor – Demetrius Langley
• Allied Health/Nursing Advisor – Dan O’Bryan
