As a consumer reporter in 2009, I blew the whistle on a modular home dealer who was taking customers' money and leaving them homeless. I won an Emmy for that series of reports and the dealer eventually landed behind bars.
My heart broke for the numerous customers who thought they were making a sound investment in the "American Dream," only to be left homeless in some cases. One man lived in his unheated trailer in the Poconos while another family simply put a roof over the basement they'd poured waiting for the home that never came.
It was then that I first considered entering the field of real estate to help potential home buyers avoid the pitfalls and obstacles that can come with purchasing a home.
Today, I work as a Realtor for Weichert, Realtors in Jenkintown, where I'm using those skills I developed digging into shady business practices, to guide my clients through the sometimes tricky process or buying and selling real estate.
