Nora Salas and Karen Lopez are the West Berry dental and orthodontics managers. For two and five years respectively they've made a name for their clinic, providing general dental work, implants, dentures, veneers and more to their clientele. The team starts by making a concerted effort to remember patients, recognizing them as they come in and addressing them by name. It's just one of the ways they make sure patients feel important and respected. As the team starts addressing the patient's main concerns, staff make sure patients know that everyone at Jefferson Dental is there for them. It's part of the reason dental assistants take such care to be extra gentle with patients and provide same-day treatment in most cases. Nora's exceptionally friendly team of dental assistants is also very good with kids. She prides herself on knowing that everyone on her team is well-trained on helping children feel very calm and knows how to employ a positive and happy demeanor in their presence. Their willingness to help patients stem from a desire to diminish dental anxiety. In their commitment to patient care, managers make sure to properly schedule staff so that each person in their chair is given individual attention. On the ortho side, patients are first given an office tour so they can begin to get familiar with parts of the office and the team they'll be spending so much time with. The visit continues with a series of x-rays and then a thorough consult where they'll meet the doctor and get an overview of their treatment plan. At every step of the process, the goal is about making patient feel comfortable and familiar with the treatment timeline. It's just another way the ortho team gains their patient's trust and friendship. To them, patients truly are more than just patients. Karen recalls a patient whose braces were shattered in a car accident. After staff removed the young boy's mouth gear they worked with him so that he could continue his treatments on schedule. He is now just months away from having the smile he's always wanted and loves to come in for appointments!
