Over 15 years ago, two local teachers saw the need to develop a place where the children of our area can learn through play in an interactive environment where family & community connections are fostered. Because of this, the Jersey Shore Children's Museum became a reality. These two teachers developed a hands-on museum where children learn and explore in the various exhibits. The Museum celebrates and encourages children's imagination thus promoting the power of play as the cornerstone of learning. Each exhibit was developed uding the stat's science core curriculum standards and each encourages children to make connections to their community as they dress up to be doctors, mail person's or news anchors or weather forecasters-just to name a few.
Due to the redevelopment plans of our previous location site, we are working diligently to secure a new (more updated) location to continue to provide the children with a safe haven where they can learn while they explore.
Please take time to spread the word, participate in one of our campaigns, volunteer your services-Together we can do this!
