Jerusalem’s Statements of Identity and Purpose

Vision Statement:
We envision the Jerusalem AME Zion Church to be an awesome, dynamic, spirit-filled and Christ-led church that impacts the community as well as the world with the life-changing Gospel and is a champion for the humanity of the unchurched and the disenfranchised.

Mission Statement:
Declaring and demonstrating the liberating power of the Gospel that leads to the equipping and the enabling of people, both young and seasoned, to take their next step toward Christ.

We value:
• Working together to create a kingdom-like environment which transforms lives, and in turn, transforms homes and communities with urgency
• The movement of the Holy Spirit that produces personal and social holiness
• Centeredness in Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God
• The Bible as the inspired word of God which guides our work together
• Integrity—what we say, what we do and what we desire are aligned
• That the interests of the children are of paramount importance, therefore we take seriously our love for and responsibility to youth and children
