Jesse Carl is a local record and music store, whose goal is to provide a unique experience to its shoppers by shelving only pre-cleaned used records, new records, CDs, turntables, and more.
Jesse Carl coined its name after a man who was a decedent of one of the first families to settle in Lakeland. Jesse Carl Ellerbe served in the US Navy during World War II. He married a woman named Vivian Silver, and they had five children and five grandchildren. Jesse Carl Ellerbe was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to his wife and children, and eventually to his grandchildren, who all remember him as a hero and role model. His impact on one of his three granddaughters (who happens to be writing this and who happens to own this store) caused her to fall in love with music at a young age. It is because of him and many others that she decided to follow her passion into her adulthood.
It is in his memory that this store has been created, and it is the hope of Jesse Carl that his legacy will be shown to others through their experience shopping with us.
