Job Match Re-Employment

The fundamental aim of the Job Match Re-Employment Project is to ensure that people can find jobs, and employers can find talent, in Southern Maryland even in tough economic times. We recognize that minimizing the time between job loss and job attainment saves homes, communities and quality of life for individuals. The average time for Job Matchers to achieve success is 4 to 6 months. Over one hundred sixty five displaced professionals have returned to play a professional role in their chosen field to date.

The success stories of our participants emanate from a talent pool overflowing with financial analysts, executive assistants, construction foremen, professors, personal trainers, supply chain managers, computer gurus and entrepreneurial spirits. Yes, we have a rocket scientist as well as seven Ph.D.’s who have participated in the project.

The Job Match Re-Employment Project continuously trains and develops a workforce pipeline with the ultimate goal to keep this region competitive. We begin with an assessment of each individual that is established in a one-on-one session with Eleanor Nelson, Coach on Call. Each individual is given a notebook to track ideas, connections and an ever-evolving plan. This plan suggests a series of steps that can change career building time from a daunting challenge into an interesting adventure of exploring the working world around us. We rely on the book Reinvention, by Brian Tracy, to reinforce the premise of “how to make the rest of your life, the best of your life.”
