Joe Brey Handcrafted

Joe was born on a farm outside of Spring Green. It is this beautiful rural setting, grounded by the Wisconsin River and the rolling hills, woods and trout streams of the Wyoming Valley, he has always called home - and always comes home to.

Joe's has traveled the globe twice, with many local adventures in between. At the end of each, his home in Spring Green awaits.

In 1969, then 16 years old, Joe was one of the few to make history by attending the Woodstock Music Festival. After high school, he learned the basics of carpentry and stone masonry from Herb Fritz, a local architect who worked and studied under Frank Lloyd Wright.

Joe spent three years in New Zealand, gold prospecting in Western Australia and six months in Vietnam building a peace park with a group of North Vietnamese soldiers.

Closer to home, Joe has worked on numerous personal construction and fine woodworking projects for the founder of Land's End, Gary Comer and is a frequent resident builder and fine woodworker helping his friend, world-famous polar explorer, Will Steger, build his environmental awareness retreat in Ely, Minnesota.
