Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that individuals who practice creative and exploratory art-making develop valuable and transferable skills of self-confidence and expression, as well as perceptual and problem-solving skills. In addition to providing instruction on a wide variety of traditional and nontraditional art-making techniques, I work to foster a sense of community among class participants and a sense of connection to a greater artistic community. I engage participants in lively, active dialogue which not only produces a fun and casual learning environment, but also also a welcoming space for individuals to ask questions and seek personalized instruction. As an experienced art mentor and instructor for adults with developmental and physical disabilities, I am able to adapt almost all programming to accommodate special needs and situations. I am passionate about my belief in every individual's potential for creativity and expression.
