In 1949, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Amory envisioned a library to serve as the cultural and reading center, as well as a place of beauty and serenity, for the residents and visitors of Boca Grande. Through their generous donation of time and finances, the Johann Fust Community Library (JFCL) opened on January 1, 1950. Since that time the library has met the initial vision and exceeded it. The library offers all visitors the opportunity to view and enjoy its museum quality artifacts, rare book collection, participate in its ancillary programs and attend a variety of community functions held at JFCL. Because of its exceptional gardens and loggia, the library facilities also are rented for private functions including wedding, anniversary and birthday receptions.
