The first Johnny Ray’s was opened in 1953 in the Roebuck shopping center of Birmingham, Alabama. This was the location where Honey, Johnny Ray’s wife created the recipes for the famous pies we all love. The original Johnny Ray’s operated in the Roebuck area for over forty years. In 1985 the first franchise opened on Valley Avenue in Birmingham. In 1990 Johnny Ray’s daughter opened the third location at the Colonnade off Highway 280.Today, Johnny Ray’s has four locations in Alabama. They are Colonnade, Pelham, Highway 52 and Chelsea. . Since Johnny Ray’s first opened our name has stood for excellence in food, quality, and customer service. Everyone thinks his or her mother is the best cook in the world,
so that is why our logo states “Next To Home It’s Johnny Ray’s.”
