Jordan's Run Veterans Memorial Run/Walk 5K is held to honor Lance Corporal Jordan Haerter, United States Marine from Sag Harbor, NY
Jordan lost his life in Iraq on 22 April 2008 firing on a tank truck laden with explosives barreling into the compound they were guarding. He and fellow Marine Cpl. Jonathan T. Yale saved 33 Marines and countless Iraqi policemen and civilians. They were awarded the Navy Cross for Extraordinary Heroism. Our Nations second highest award for combat Valor.
