More about Joseph Cook's Farm

We are a permaculture farm and intentional living community on a mission to achieve true self-sustainability. We operate on the agricultural and social design principles set out by permaculture founder Bill Mollison -- Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share -- and use nature as our guide.

Our community and farm is always growing and evolving. A few of our projects include: organic farming, aquaponics, beekeeping, food preservation, mushroom cultivation, wild foraging, renewable energy systems, and more. We also host and facilitate educational workshops related to these topics. Please contact us if you are interested in hosting an event on the farm.

Wildlife is abundant in the surrounding pristine wild lands of Cross Creek. This land was inhabited by pre-Columbian indigenous peoples and there is a burial mound nearby dating back ~1300 years. The quaint town of Micanopy is 8 miles down the road, and the social and cultural offerings of Gainesville are just 20 minutes away.

We offer accommodation in the farm lodge as well as camping and RV space for those interested in staying with us. PLEASE MAKE A RESERVATION THROUGH OUR AIRBNB OR HIPCAMP LISTINGS! We are a working farm and cannot always respond timely to Facebook messages. Thanks for understanding :)
