Joseph's Obedience Training School

Joseph's Obedience Training School was founded in 1995 by Joseph Mendonca. A trainer for over 15 years, Joseph has won many American and Canadian Obedience Titles, including two Dog World Awards, as well as his dogs winning American and Canadian In-Breed Championships.

Joseph is certified for all training levels, is a certified judge for the U.S. Temperament Test Association, and an Externship instructor/mentor for the Animal Behavior College located in California
In addition, Joseph is also a German Shepherd Dog breeder.
Clientele come from all over Cape Cod and the South Shore to train here at Joseph's. We are a full service training center, teaching positive motivation reinforcement. Lori Daigle

Agility
Lori Daigle has been involved with dogs for over twelve years. She has been running agility for ten years and has been very successful with her Chihuahua, Squish. Lori has attended the AKC Agility Nationals, AKC Agility Invitationals, and the NADAC Championships. Squish has been in the top five AKC Agility Chihuahuas in the country for the past five years in a row. Lori & Squish are currently working towards their third AKC Master Agility Champion Title!

Michelle McCafferty

Rally-O
Michelle has been involved in the sport of Rally Obedience since the AKC first started offering Rally-O as a titling companion event. Michelle has successfully competed with two of her dogs in Rally-O for over 7 years now, earning Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) titles on both dogs. She attends Rally seminars whenever possible to sharpen skills and stay current on recent changes to Rally regulations and exercises. Michelle also trains in and competes in the companion sports of Obedience and Agility and participates with her dogs in sanctioned Earth dog and Barn Hunt tests.

Berna Welch

Berna Welch showed her first dog, a Pomeranian, when she was 9 years old and she’s had a love affair with the show ring ever since. Berna has owner handled Miniature Schnauzers, Lakeland Terriers, Standard Schnauzers and Golden Retrievers to their Championships. She has concentrated on Goldens for 30 years, breeding and finishing many champions and specialty winners. She proudly owner handled her homebred Champion Mulder to Best of Breed at the Golden Retriever National over an entry of 700 Goldens. Berna has also put numerous obedience titles on dogs in the past and is currently training a Golden in Agility.

Alex Wheeler

My career in dogs started when I was about 13 years old going to shows and working with Geri Kelly. During that time I also went to hsow with Dee Shepard and Wendell Sammett. When I was 18 I worked for Bobby Fisher. During those years I learned how to take care of dogs, groom dogs, and show dogs. When I was 20, I won my first BIS. Over the years I have shown many different breeds winning six different groups and winning multiple national BISS with many different breeds. I have finished breeds in all seven groups.

Len Gadomski

Competitive Obedience

This is Len Gadomski who teaches novice through utility competition obedience. This is Len with his famous Zena,9/9/99 to 6/15/11. Besides being an AKC and Canadian Champion she also held many titles in other dog organizations. AM/Can OTCH They Call Her Jawins Zena UDX25,OM3, VER, WAC, CGC, TDI, UD/Can, UD/ASCA, CDX/UKC. Two outstanding accomplishments are that she is the only Doberman to ever make a UDX25 and also the ‘DPCA Top 20’ nine times. Now Len is training a Vizsla named Archie who is presently doing extremely well working his way to the top

Tracey Costa
K9 Nose Work® is the fastest growing recreational sport open to ALL dogs, regardless of age, size, physical limitation or level of training. It provides physical exercise and mental stimulation. Dogs work one by one, allowing them to focus and learn. Natural behaviors are encouraged, which build confidence and drive in the game of scenting and searching. This sport strengthens the relationship with our canine companions, as we learn how they experience the world.
