About Artist:
Scott Doten - Artist & designer for 28+ years. When he was 7 he took art classes at the Palm Springs Art Museum at 8 years old, one
of his drawings was published on the cover of a local real estate magazine. In grade school other kids would ask him to draw
Peanuts characters for them; Snoopy was his favorite. As a child, he wanted to grow up and work with Charles Schulz and Walt
Disney. In his younger years, he took art classes from Elsie Grace. She was an inspiration to him. In high school he made and
designed gold and silver jewelry with his father. In his last years of high school, he had an art teacher named
Mrs. Janis Commentz. She opened Scott's eyes to many different art mediums She also let Scott design the cover for the school
newspaper. He would screen print the newspaper cover in three colors in runs of 100 covers, each month or so. After graduating
from high school a year early, he worked various jobs but always came back to artwork and design. He was a dental tech for
eight years and learned to carve every tooth in the mouth. He calls teeth miniature sculptures.During that time he studied
Hollywood movie makeup and special effects. Later he got a job at a welding shop and worked his way up to certified structural
welder. He would weld many of the art-type works the shop would get, including an 8 foot tall electric guitar, made all out of
steel. For the past 15 years, he has been designing and building fine art, sculptures, furniture and paintings that are in
private collections. He welcomes commission artwork.
