More about Kaizen Strength & Conditioning

Kazien Strength and conditioning is dedicated to bringing proven methods of strength training and conditioning to the general public. This will be done through practical applications of scientifically proven programming strategies and professional coaching. Many of the training strategies will be modeled off professional and collegiate athletics. Do not be discouraged, all age, skill and experience levels are welcome. You do not need to be an athlete to train like one. There are many benefits from this type of training. The Collegiate model has many qualities that can be applied to the general public.

One of the strengths of this model is training in a group with like-minded individuals. Athletes share a bar with one or two other people. You train together; spot each other and push each other to reach your goals. This adds the important elements of camaraderie and accountability to training that is otherwise lacking. You develop a bond with your lifting partners that force you to get up and get to training. The process of growing stronger together and pushing through barriers you thought you would never past is very powerful.

The other important difference is the fact that training is planned over set periods of time. Each member will be given a workout card to track their progress. Although you will share a bar with another member, you will only lift appropriate weights for you strength level. Expect to be pushed to be best of your ability, but gradually over time. Small daily improvements are the meaning of Kaizen, as well as an effective strategy for strength training. The first level of the program is focused on building a solid foundation of strength and technique. It will span a three month period. There will be 4 phases of training, three weeks each. Each phase will have a specific focus. An example would be as follows: hypertrophy/Work capacity, Strength, Power, Max strength. In addition each phase will have different sets of movements. For example, military press, push press, push jerk, then split jerk. This is what is lacking from most similar programs. Proper exercise progression builds solid technique and prevents injury and imbalances.

Regardless of your goals, performance or appearance based, you will still get results with this training method. In addition to reaching your goals, you will gain valuable experience and education.
