Kala Callahan has lived on the North Shore for over 25 years. With family roots in Odessa, Texas; having been born in Southern Illinois and going to High School in Springfield, Illinois gives Kala a unique perspective on life. Her college major in Psychology affords her the ability to connect with many different personalities in home sellers and buyers on a more personal level. She understands what an emotional process buying and selling a home can be; her education and experience allow her to help keep the negotiation process calm for all involved. That said, Kala is a tough negotiator on behalf of her clients.

Kala, having been featured in Realtor Magazine in 2008 as a Stager, brings years of Professional Home Staging experience to the table: a value adding asset that is passed along to all clients listing theirs homes with her.

Kala has a strong foundation and knowledge of the value and quality necessary to work with builders and rehabbers. She keeps her finger on the pulse of the “fixer-upper” world. Since she was a young child, Kala has been very involved in helping re-hab homes in order to sell them. Having done this, and having lived through the years of 24% interest rates for a home loan, taught her how to be resourceful with money: her own and that of others. It also taught her how to recognize a solid, well-built home.

Giving back locally is extremely important to Kala Callahan. As the Chair for Orchard Village's largest annual fundraiser, The Blossom Gala, for seven years in a row, Kala demonstrated her skills as an astute producer of a long-term, large project; 10 months from beginning to end in planning each year. She also used her ability to manage multiple personalities in a high pressure situation, as there were over 70 volunteers involved in putting this incredible event on each year. Ms. Callahan sat on the Orchard Village Board of Directors for a number of years and is proud to continue to support Orchard Village personally at every opportunity.
