Kanban Logistics was incorporated in 1984 as Kanban Industries. Kanban is a Japanese term which means "Just In Time", a term which has driven the philosophy of the company since 1984. The company's name has evolved with the changing dynamics of the logistics industry.

The company owns and operates 700,000 square feet of space in the Mid-Atlantic Region. It is divided into four business segments; Public Warehousing & Transportation, Contract Warehousing, Rework/Packaging/Returns, and Facility Development & Leasing.
