Antonio Garza launched Karma Social Media after repeatedly seeing some of the barriers that kept small businesses and local non-profits from having a solid and fruitful online presence. His last position as the Distribution Manager for the six Atlanta publications of Modern Luxury Magazine allowed him to work with many of the high-end businesses and charitable organizations around Atlanta where he saw this was a recurring issue.

“Social media is no longer the ‘redheaded stepchild’ of the marketing field, it continues to mature every day into a unique medium to both increase brand awareness and enhance business goals. It is not something you can tack on to your average marketing person and definitely not something most fresh-faced interns can manage. Social media can be fun, but it's a serious force.”

The goal is to provide a service that can deliver what these organizations wish they could have without the responsibility of them taking on a new and expensive staff person.

Antonio has a background and degree in Media Arts & Animation from the Art Institute of Atlanta. He has been with small businesses, product and service providers, and non-profit organizations over the years. Antonio has done work including account management for services providers in the US, UK, Canada, and Mexico; visual design and content writing for various organizations; and Spanish language corporate training, promotional, and educational content creation. He has also worked with and served on the board of several Atlanta grassroots non-profit organizations over the years.

"Social media can be many things; the list of adjectives is almost endless. For businesses, it's a way to add some personality to your brand. So, it should definitely reflect your company’s values, but with a unique persona and consistent voice. Whether your organization provides services, products, education, or charity, there is always a little room for fun on social. For me, social is a chance to bring a little human element, personality, and personal interactions with the people that follow your brand. Word of mouth has never been as powerful as it is online today."
