More about KC Acres

At KC Acres, we have made the conscious decision to live life simply and to its fullest. It was this philosophy of a simple yet abundant life that led us to begin to raise our own meat, eggs, vegetables and fruit. It is important to us to know that our food, and the food that we share with our loved ones, is of the best, most nutritious quality, and that it is produced in a manner that is natural, the way God intended.

Our Lowline cattle are naturally raised, pasture/grass fed, and allowed to live life they way they were intended to. They spend their days grazing about our foothill ranch, and lounging comfortably along the banks of our natural springs, or below the numerous mature oaks that cover the property.

Our foundation stock derived from the original Trangie Ranch in Australia, where the Lowline Angus breed was established. Lowlines are distinguished by their short stature, ease of calving, superior meat quality and ability to marble (or finish-out) on grass, and their docile natures. At about 60% the size of traditional Angus cattle, Lowlines are considered to be one of the smallest full-sized breeds of cattle; they are not classified as miniatures, and are not affected by dwarfism.

Our cattle are handled on a regular basis, and in line with the breed's characteristics are very docile. Several of our cows are halter broke and enjoy being scratched, brushed, and regularly petted. They make excellent 4H and FFA project cattle, as they are easy to halter break and their smaller stature makes them easier to house, groom, and move.

Being smaller in stature, Lowlines are the PERFECT option for a single family looking to harvest their own beef, as the meat will easily fit in one freezer and be eaten within a reasonable amount of time (let's be honest, who wants to eat a steak that has been in the freezer for a year and a half!). Lowlines also finish-out incredibly well on grass alone, producing meat that is healthier, more nutritious, but still well marbled for excellent flavor.

For more information on our cattle and to inquire about available stock, please send us a message! We look forward to hearing from you.
