Karey Collins began her career over 15
years ago. She started by attending a
program at a trade school
specializing as a certified medical
assistant. The program at that time
consisted in teaching front & back office,
phlebotomy and medical billing. Upon
graduation from the program she worked
briefly as a medical assistant then shortly
after begin working at Blue Cross. At
BlueCross she started in the call center.
Then quickly moved up to be a claims
processor then appeals and also
performed job training.
During this time she was even able to work
along with programmers to convert their
old automated system to the current IVR
system. She then tested and trained the
existing and new employees on how to use
the system.
But Karey’s most fulfilling job was helping
providers to get their claim’s paid.
She had providers that would only speak
to her and would call her direct line
for help. She saw how much the providers
really needed help and dreamed of some
day owning her own medical billing
business. So in 2006, after 10 years at
BlueCross, she left to pursue that dream
and has been helping providers get paid
ever since.
