Ken Sanchez, City Council District 1

Councilor Ken Sanchez has lived on Albuquerque’s Westside for over half a century. He is Vice President of Gilbert Sanchez Tax and Accounting Services, started by his father in 1963 and located on west Central Avenue. Ken is an enrolled agent to practice for the Internal Revenue Service. He is also President and Qualified Broker for Ken Sanchez & Associates Realty, and a Financial Advisor for HD Best.

Ken brings a wealth of experience to District 1 and is currently serving his third term as Albuquerque City Councilor. Ken also served as Bernalillo County Commissioner from 1995-2002. As the Council's Committee of the Whole Chair in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2011 where he always crafted a balanced, responsible budget. In 2012, he was appointed as Chair of the Finance and Government Committee and elected unanimously as Chair of the Albuquerque/Bernalillo Water Utility Authority Board.
