Kent ISD Bright Beginnings

Helping you help your child. Bright Beginnings is a free family support program servicing families in the Kent County area of Michigan. Our goal is to empower you with the skills and knowledge you need to be your child’s first and best teacher.
We provide you with information, resources,
educational play activities and support so you
can help your child learn and grow to their
fullest potential. As you help your child learn through play, the two of you will have fun and connect on a new level.

• Other parents and young children
All of our staff are Parents as Teachers (PAT)
certified. Their training is based on early
childhood research, so you can be confident
you’re working with experts.

Take advantage of any or all of our
options
• Home visits – A Parent Educator can
visit your home for a one-on-one learning
and play session. They’ll show you how
to use common items in your home as
learning tools. They’ll also talk with you
about any challenges you are facing.
• Playgroups – Led by a Parent Educator,
these hour-long sessions include
educational activities, stories, songs and
snack time. We hold playgroups all across
Kent County.
• Screenings including health, vision,
hearing, child development, social and
emotional.
• Connections to resources that can
help your family.
