KETONIX is a non-invasive; FDA registered Class I Medical Device, for the detection of ketone production and usage by measuring exhaled breath. Ketones are formed by breaking down fatty acids by your liver and are used metabolically as a source of energy instead of carbohydrates (glucose). When your body has broken down the fatty acids as an energy source you are considered in a state of ketosis. KETONIX detects these ketones in your breath and interprets the results by displaying a visual spectrum of the quantity of the gases in your breath.
