KFC Plank Rd

Founded in 1952 by Colonel Harland Sanders from a table of six in a filling station in the Kentucky mountains; KFC now has more than 20,200 outlets in 109 countries around the world.

Local franchisee, Herb and Sarah Stuver brought KFC to Blair County in 1960. The original Herb's Kentucky Fried Chicken was located on the hilltop of Plank Road, above the bowling alley. With the construction of I-99, the store was relocated in 1976, to the corner of Plank Road and Goods Lane.

Spring of 1998, was the construction of a state of the art building at the same corner and the "old" building was torn down.

Since retiring in 1992, Stuvers' Daughter, Susan Stuver countinues the tradition of serving delicious, finger-lickin' good Kentucky Fried Chicken.... with all the trimmings.
